Blue: Summer Sea

What makes it special: Those stickers are totally awesome and shiny!

How long it lasts:
One day. Even less than a day. The stickers started peeling off my nails in a few hours. Maybe the stickers are not suitable for the chemicals usually found in the nail polishes. Or it's me not pressing them hard enough. No idea.  I was extremely disappointed.

To cook this look you need:
  • Three kitties
  • Base coat
  • Top coat
  • Blue nail polish (you can do the Blue: Ombre or use just plain nail polish. The stickers will cover most of your nails anyway so no need to bother with additional design)
  • Stickers - (tropical) fish
  • Scissors
Steps:
  • Apply the base coat
  • Apply the blue or the gradient from Blue: Ombre
  • Select a sticker and apply it on your nail. Press well to avoid air bubbles under the sticker.
  • Use the scissors to cut the excess. Be careful - you can use this part of the sticker for another nail
  • Apply top coat

Blue: Ombre

What makes it special: The gradient - ombre - effect from light blue to midnight blue. I chose dark blue nail polish with tiny glitter effect that made the ombre more sparkling and vivid

How long it lasts:
I stayed with this design for one day. The nailpolish can last longer but I had plans for some stickers and I moved on from this design.

It all depends on your base colour. In addition to the base colour I put a layer of white. The white base usually makes the colours more clear

To cook this look you need:

  • Three kitties
  • Base coat
  • White nail polish
  • Light blue nail polish
  • Blue nail polish
  • Dark (midnight) blue nail polish
  • Sponge
  • Tape, nail polish remover (to clean the skin after you're done with the sponging)

Steps:
  1. Apply the base coat and wait for it to dry.
  2. (optional) Apply one or two coats of white nail polish and wait to dry.
  3. (optional) Cover your fingers in tape.
  4. Take the sponge and put next to each other a few drops of the light blue, blue and midnight blue nail polish
  5. Start tapping until you create a satisfying gradient - ombre. It may take a few layers. In my case it took two.
  6. (the optional #2) Remove the tape.
  7. Use the nail polish remover to clear the mess from the skin around your nails.
  8. Apply top coat.

Wooden Marble: Basic (1 of 2)

What makes it special: The blue, brown and green combined with yellow.

How long it lasts:
This is a tricky question. If you make it well you can have this design for a few days and just make small fixtures on the edges. This time I did a bad job with this design and the marble was bumpy and lacking contrast. That's with I stayed with it one day and I moved to the Wooden Marble: Shiny (2 of 2) as soon as I got back home in the evening.

To cook this look you need:

  • Three kitties
  • Base coat
  • Good white nail polish as base
  • Brown nail polish
  • Yellow nail polish
  • Green nail polish
  • Blue nail polish (I used three shades of blue which I think was completely useless, one can do the job!)
  • Cup of water
  • (Optional) Nail polish remover, cotton, toothpicks (and everything else you use to clean the mess when you make your marble nails
Steps:
  • Apply the base coat
  • Apply two or even three layers of white nail polish. Wait to dry.
  • Full the cup with water
  • Put drops of the nail polishes in the water and draw lines with the toothpick
  • (Optional) Wrap your hands in tape, cover the skin in hand cream or do whatever you do to prevent the mess that will follow
  • Dip your nails in the cup (one hand only)
  • Use the toothpick to collect the rest of the nail polish floating in the water
  • Take your fingers out of the water
  • Clean the nail polish from the skin
  • Repeat with the other hand
  • Repeat with the other hand
  • Apply top coat while it is still wet because it will smoothen the bumps (if you have aby)
  • Wait to dry

Ladybug Dots

What makes it special: The ladybug design.

How long it lasts:
The hexagons always add a few days extra to the nail polish and the black tops of the painted ladybugs allow you to fix the white edges when they appear with some black nail polish. If your fimo figures are fixed ok, you can stay with this design for a good seven days!

You can also execute this design in two steps: You can wear it as red and black for a few days and when it starts peeling off, you can fix the edges by doing the actual ladybug design. It will cover the edges and refresh the look.

To cook this look you need:

  • Three kitties
  • Base coat
  • Black nail polish
  • Black nail polish with thin effect
  • Red nail polish
  • Red&white hexagon nail polish
  • White hexagon nail polish
  • Black&white hexagon nail polish
  • Fimo figures - ladybugs

 Steps:
  • Apply base coat
  • Apply two layers of red and black nail polish - In this case on my left I did red on the thumb, ring and pinky and black on my index and middle fingers. On my right hand I did black on the thumb, ring and pinky and red on my index and middle fingers.
  • At this point you can stop and leave it for a few days like this before going on with the design

  • Apply layer of red&white hexagon nail polish on all your finger that have black nail polish
  • While the nail polish is still wet, place two fimo ladybug figures on your thumb
  • Apply layer of black&white hexagon nail polish on your red thumb
  • While the nail polish is still wet, place two fimo ladybug figures on your thumb
  • Draw a line with the thin black nail polish on each of your red fingers (except the thumb!)
  • Draw another line to top the edges on these nails
  • Place four dots on those nails
  • Fix your nail design with top coat

Cocktail

What makes it special: The mix of products used to obtain the final effect.

How long it lasts:
The original design was a total disaster which resulted in quick reinvention by adding the hexagons. This lasted for a whole week.

To cook this look you need:
  • Three kitties
  • Base coat
  • Light blue-green nail polish
  • Tape (pink)
  • Hexagon nail polish in black and white
  • Tweezers
  • Scissors
  • Top coat

Steps
  •  Apply the base coat
  •  Apply two coats of the blue-green nail polish
  • Wait to dry or use quick dryer solution (spray and so on)
  • Apply the pink tape overlapping the lines
  • Cut the tape that goes out of your nail or gently press it to stick to your nail
  • Apply top coat
  • At this step I saw that something goes wrong in so many ways: the tape started to jump and unroll from my nails.
  • Apply the black and white hexagon nail polish and save the day!
